Crypto Trading Simulator Margin Trading Guide
Unlock leverage only after spot craft and a bill floor you can defend.
Margin is a privilege, not a starter kit
The Early Access launch post states you can unlock margin trading and take leveraged positions once you have learned the basics. That sentence is doing a lot of work. Margin multiplies both skill and mistakes. This guide explains when to unlock it, how to size it, and which wiki tools keep you solvent.
If you still fail basic spot checklists in How to Trade, do not unlock margin to “catch up.”
What margin changes
Compared with spot:
- You can control larger notional with less cash
- Losses accelerate toward liquidation territory
- Emotional mistakes become account-ending faster
- Bill pressure feels worse because drawdowns arrive quicker
Older “Road to Full Release” notes also preview deeper long/short leverage systems still being polished. Always verify what your build exposes today versus what a June 2026 preview described.
Unlock checklist (earn it)
Only unlock margin after:
- Three consecutive sessions with a written plan and respected invalidation
- Bill floor green in the Bill Budget Planner
- Comfortable use of Limit / SL / TP markers from Controls and Settings
- No revenge trading after a news spike (Social Feed and Events)
- Understanding of the current cycle phase (Market Cycles and Whales)
If any box fails, stay spot-only another week.
Sizing leveraged risk
Use the Position Risk Planner with a smaller risk percent than your spot default—often half—until you survive a full week without approaching liquidation cues.
Rules of thumb:
- Never risk bill money on leverage
- Never add to a loser because “leverage needs room”
- Never open margin during peak euphoria without a pre-written exit
- Prefer fewer, cleaner trades over constant leveraged scalp spam when fees are dynamic
Liquidation awareness
Treat liquidation as a game-over for that position’s capital—and sometimes for your monthly plan. Keep mental (and visual) stops tighter than “hope.” If the UI offers trailing or auto stop modules later via the software suite on the Early Access Roadmap, configure them conservatively; automation cannot save a reckless unlock.
Margin versus mining and staking
Players sometimes unlock margin while also maxing GPUs and staking every coin. That stacks correlated stress: heat bills, illiquidity, and leverage. Sequence instead:
- Spot solvency
- Modest mining with cooling (How to Mine)
- Stake only surplus
- Then tiny margin experiments
Practice drills
- Drill A: One leveraged trade per day max for a week, journaled.
- Drill B: Close leverage entirely during major crisis headlines.
- Drill C: After any near-liquidation scare, ban margin for 48 hours and reread Risk and Security.

Margin is how skilled players scale. It is also how impatient players meet the refund button. Earn the unlock, then keep the privilege boring.
Fees under leverage
Dynamic fees punish noisy leveraged scalping harder than patient spot swings. Before you spam entries, check fee readouts and news intensity via Social Feed and Events. If fees are elevated, shrink both size and trade count.
Journal fields for margin weeks
Track unlock date, max leverage used, nearest liquidation scare, and whether bills stayed covered. If a scare happens, paste the story into your notes and ban new margin for forty-eight hours. Ego recovery is slower than chart recovery.
Teaching friends
When a friend unlocks margin on day one, send them this page plus Getting Started and the Position Risk Planner. Early Access communities stay healthier when leverage is treated as earned content, not a default toggle.
